Two installations created for Top Center: Harmonic Lines and Silenci Matèric, a dialogue between matter, movement and memory. Top Center is the only dance school in the area with a permanent modern art exhibition on its premises.
Visual artist, musician and cabinetmaker
Joan B. Domènech (Vinaròs, 1974) is a visual artist, musician and cabinetmaker. With a degree in Music from ESMUC and a master's in Chamber Music from the Liceu Conservatoire, he develops work based on a dialogue between matter, sound and emotion. His experience as a cabinetmaker and musician deeply influences his artistic language, which is marked by the strength of its textures and its symbolism.
He has presented various collections in venues such as the H10 Art Gallery in Barcelona, Top Center Studio, Fabra i Coats, the Pere Pruna Cultural Centre and the Fundació Caixa Rural de Vinaròs. His career has also featured in media such as La Vanguardia and Catalunya Música.
In parallel, he has an intense career as a performer and teacher. He is currently a professor at the Liceu Conservatoire and the Manresa Music Conservatoire, and solo tuba of the OSV and the Andorra National Classical Orchestra.
Created especially for Top Center Studio in Barcelona, this imposing work pays tribute to the lives and careers of the renowned dancers Petra Cernakova and Victor Buenavida.

The sensual irregularity of its forms alludes to the unpredictable nature of life, while its ascent symbolises resilience, effort and a constant search for self-improvement.
The lines are held up by eight vertical structures with an eroded texture, representing the essential pillars of their lives: the values, challenges and achievements that have given strength to their path.
A proposal for plastic works inspired by silence through matter. The works in this collection invite reflection on the relationship between an object and its form, and are loaded with symbolic meaning through metaphor, critique and suggestion. All of them revolve around silence as an inspiring, structuring axis. They are a search for the delight of beauty through harmonious forms and diverse materials, while exploring texture in depth.
Silenci Matèric, as a proposal for harmonising matter, experiments with lyrical abstraction, based on emotions and the suggestions of abstract art, and carries us into the world of silence.
